Grocery Sidekick Terms of Use

Grocery Sidekick is provided by Yellow Labs Products (“we”, “us”). By using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the app.

Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of Grocery Sidekick. Where these terms and that agreement conflict, these terms govern our relationship with you, except where Apple’s agreement governs your licence to the software itself.

Grocery Sidekick reads a grocery barcode or an ingredient label and reports what the ingredient list contains, measured against the allergens, ingredients, eating pattern and nutrition limits you have chosen. It reports what a label says. It does not rate food, and it does not tell you what to eat.

Grocery Sidekick is an aid to reading a package, not a replacement for it. Manufacturers reformulate products without warning, packaging differs between regions and production runs, databases go out of date, and a camera can misread a printed line. Never rely on this app alone to decide whether a food is safe for someone with a food allergy or intolerance. Always read the package itself.

The app is not a medical device and provides no medical, dietary, or health advice. It is not a substitute for advice from a doctor, pharmacist, or dietitian. If you have a severe allergy, treat every answer here as a prompt to check the label, never as a clearance.

Grocery Sidekick is free to use for a limited number of scans. Grocery Sidekick Pro removes that limit and is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly.

• Prices in the United States are $3.99 per month or $19.99 per year. Prices in other countries are set by Apple’s regional pricing and are shown in the app before you buy.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price for your next term.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

Purchases are made through Apple, and Apple’s refund policy applies. We cannot issue refunds ourselves — requests go to Apple. An unused portion of a current period is not refundable when you cancel; cancelling stops the next renewal and access continues until the period you have paid for ends.

Use Grocery Sidekick for your own shopping. Do not attempt to extract, scrape, or resell the product or ingredient database, interfere with or overload our servers, reverse-engineer the app except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded, or use it to give anyone else dietary or medical advice.

The app, its ingredient dictionary, and its written explanations belong to Yellow Labs Products. Some product information comes from public sources including Open Food Facts and the USDA, and remains subject to their own licences and to the accuracy of their contributors. Brand names and product names belong to their owners, and their appearance in the app is identification, not endorsement or affiliation.

The app is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant that the information in the app is accurate, complete, or current.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusions above, so they may not apply to you.

You may stop using Grocery Sidekick at any time by deleting it, subject to cancelling any subscription as described above. We may suspend access where it is being used in a way that breaks these terms or endangers the service.

If these terms change we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms. Questions go to support@yellowlabsproducts.com.
